WASHINGTON COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT OF SCIENCE – WED MAY 22

On Wednesday May 22, all of our 11th grade students will be taking the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).  This assessment is based on the Next Generation Science Standards that are currently being used in all our Science classrooms here at FHS.  These standards are designed to mirror the thinking and practices used by scientists in the real world. Students will still be able to graduate if they do not pass this exam. We will be using the results of this year’s test to help our rising students to be successful with the new standards and to improve our Science instruction.  Testing is untimed and students will return to class with a pass once testing is finished. Absent students will have make-ups later in the week. If you have any questions on this or any other assessments, contact Jim Jeffreys, FHS Assessment Guy at (206) 252-6232 or via email at jrjeffreys@seattleschools.org
