  • New Athletic Turf Coming This Summer

Dear Franklin families and students, Good news! This summer a construction team will be replacing the athletic field turf and installing infrastructure for energy-efficient field lighting. This project is being paid for through the Buildings, Technology and Academics III (BTA III) Capital Levy. Seattle voters approved BTA III in 2010. It is also being paid for through the Buildings, Technology and Academics IV (BTA IV) Capital Levy. Seattle voters approved BTA IV in 2016. BTA levies pay for many needed renovations and major maintenance projects in school buildings throughout the district. These levies also provide funds for improvements to technology and academic support infrastructure. Information about this summer’s BTA projects will be posted soon on the BTA website: If you have questions about the work at our school, please use the “Contact Us” link on the website or call project manager Jeanette Imanishi, 206-252-0663. We can all look forward to an improved school in September. Sincerely, Jennifer Wiley Principal
