Pedalheads again hiring Bike Camp Instructors for the Spring Break and Summer

Pedalheads, a learn-to-ride bicycle day camp for ages 2-12, is currently hiring Bike Instructors to help run their 2025 spring break and summer programs. Their instructor positions are wonderful entry level jobs for youth to gain skills in relationship-building, teaching and leadership; and hours are also available as service-learning (you can do 40 hours of service-learning over Spring Break and then get paid throughout the Summer).

Looking for a Job this Spring or Summer? Apply to the Rainier Beach Youth Stewards Program, Apply by Feb 15
The Rainier Beach Youth Steward program is a youth employment program where youth, ages 14-18, gain job experience through wetland restoration and farm education.
Participants spend each week in the spring or summer at Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands engaging in farm activities such as planting, harvesting and packing produce, field management, wetland restoration, working a farm stand and more. Youth participate in different aspects of farm operations, learn about wetland restoration at the farm, and build relationships with peers, adult staff, and volunteers. Additionally, there are opportunities for professional development through team building and job skills training. This employment opportunity requires some heavy lifting and working in rain or shine.
Spring 2026
- Schedule — March 10-May 15. Every Tuesday and Thursday; 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Wednesday; 3:15-5:15 p.m. Total of 10 weeks. Hours are subject to change but will not exceed 6 hours per week.
- Location — Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands (5513 S Cloverdale St, Seattle 98118).
- Pay — Youth will receive a bi-weekly stipend of $240 based on verified participation in the program. If you are not present for two out of the three scheduled program days in any given week, you will no longer be eligible to receive the full stipend for that week

Pacific Science Center Now Hiring Camp Aides for Summer Programs
Pacific Science Center has ignited curiosity for more than 60 years. Since its founding as the nation’s first science and technology center, PacSci has worked to expand access to science, serve as a vital resource for educators, and fuel discovery and experimentation as a vibrant community laboratory. They host a Camp for Young Minds each summer.
Science Center Camp Aide is a part-time role at 5 different locations across Seattle. The Camp Aide will ensure smooth camp programming by providing support to classroom educators and camp location site leads as directed. This position upholds the mission to provide safe, interactive, week-long STEM camps for school age children to spark lifelong curiosity, significantly enhance the participant’s experience and expand Pacific Science Center’s role as a driving force for informal science education.

Join Dell Technologies as an entry-level remote data entry operator designed specifically for teenagers. In this part-time role, you will collect and enter data, organize electronic files, perform regular backups, and assist our customer support team with data-related issues. PV Radio Internship program now open for femme and gender expansive students
PV Radio is an all youth-of-color led podcast + creative space where girls and gender expansive teens talk about and navigate interests and injustices that impact their lives.
Topics include Social + Healing Justice, Pop Culture, LGBTQ+, Self-Image and Healthy Relationships.
You will learn about on-air presence, creative direction and gain valuable technical skills including engineering and editing. Many different roles available! PV Radio participants will receive a $1,600 stipend.
You will have space to creatively form, respond to, and be responsible for pushing out your own narratives through this all youth-of-color led media platform. You will also have a chance to meet other teens interested in media, build community, and explore topics that affect you.

KEXP Seeking 2026 Interns (great opportunity for a graduating senior)

Applications for Seattle Children’s Summer Research Institute Now Open, $2000 stipend
The Seattle Children’s Science Education Department is once again hosting a paid, transformative 4-week experience for students currently in grades 10 and 11 who want to learn more about biology laboratory research.
The Research Training Program is an in-person program with a competitive application process and is intended for local students who reside within commuting distance of downtown Seattle. Activities include:
- Lectures and labs on topics including immunology and infectious diseases
- Independent research project and final oral presentation
- Workshops on career exploration and college preparation
Program Dates: July 13-August 7, 2026
Applications are due March 8, 2026. A $2000 stipend will paid to students to offset costs for transportation and meals.

World Relief Western Washington Seeking Immigrant and Refugee Youth for Internship Opportunity
World Relief Western Washington is an organization focused on creating pathways for refugees and immigrants to reconnect with their personal joys and goals for the future. The Equity & Sustainability Internship offers paid opportunities for high school students passionate about sustainable community development. Interns gain hands-on work experience in their community garden and learning kitchen, engaging in activities like blackberry removal, meal prep, inventory updates, and ecological surveys. Seattle Public Schools’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) department maintains an Career Quest SPS Active directory of internships and other career-focused training programs that is updated throughout the year. The programs currently seeking students – and have open applications – are listed at the top. Programs that may not be accepting students now – but will in the future – are listed by CTE pathway below.

Worksite Learning (HS credit for work)

Students who are currently employed can earn high school credit (CTE or other elective credit) for completed working hours! Every 180 hours worked is equivalent to .5 high school elective credits plus an A to boost your GPA for college admissions.

Eligibility for students seeking elective credit for their paid work experience:
- Student must be 16 years of age or older, be legally employed, and have taken a CTE course.
- Complete Bi-Weekly check-in forms documenting your hours.
- Complete a final evaluation form detailing how their specific work experience aligns with their educational goals, imparts work and financial understanding, and the ways this work experience impacts future career and educational opportunities.

UW Upward Bound applications now open for college preparation support
Upward Bound, a federally funded program that prepares first generation and/or low-income students to enter and complete college, is now welcoming applications through February 11, 2026.

UW STEMsub now accepting applications for next cohort beginning this Summer, 10th graders only

The mission of UW STEMsub (Math Science Upward Bound) is to help low income and potential first-generation college students succeed in high school, get accepted to college and STEM majors, and graduate with a STEM degree.

Summer Academy includes: six weeks of STEM classes at UW taught by professors (one semester of high school credit per class), research opportunities, field trips, and a lunch stipend.
Academic Year support includes: weekly academic advising and tutoring, Saturday college/career prep workshops, graduation assistance, SAT/ACT prep, help with college application essays, service learning hours, and a paid stipend for your full participation.
Eligibility:
- Current 10th grader (applications are not being accepted at this time for 11th graders)
- Motivated to go to college and are interested in pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) or the Medical/Health Care field;
- Are the first generation in your family to earn a 4-year college degree and/or come from a low-income family. Most students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch are eligible
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident not already participating in another Upward Bound or TRIO Talent Search Program.

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship Application Now Open
The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship Baccalaureate Scholarship (BaS) is an incredible opportunity for Washington students — providing support that goes beyond just tuition! The scholarship provides up to $22,500 in financial aid, mentorship, and career resources to students pursuing high-demand careers in STEM and health care in Washington state.
Key Benefits for Students:
- Scholarship up to $22,500 to cover tuition, fees, and expenses.
- Access to mentorship programs and career-building networks.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a Washington state resident. WSOS accepts undocumented students.
- Plan to pursue or be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an eligible STEM or health care major at an eligible Washington state college or university.
- Have a family income that does not exceed 125% of Washington state median family income. Example: a family of four may not exceed $174,500 per year.

Seattle Promise (2 years Free Tuition) Applications are Due February 13!
Seattle Promise is a college tuition and success program launched by Seattle Colleges, Seattle Public Schools, and the City of Seattle. It offers free tuition at any of the Seattle Colleges: North Seattle College, Seattle Central College or South Seattle College for up to two years, 90 college credits or a student’s first degree, whichever comes first.
All graduating seniors attending Seattle public high schools are eligible for the Seattle Promise program regardless of grade point average (GPA), income, ability, or country of birth. But you Must Apply to claim your free tuition. The application deadline is February 13.
Even if you are expecting to attend a 4-year university after high school, sometimes plans change, and you do not want to miss out on free tuition for 2 years. You cannot apply to Seattle Promise after February 16, so do it now even if it is a backup plan. Find out more information about the Seattle Promise and Apply for Seattle Promise Now!

The Seattle Skills Center is a half-day option high school that provides advanced Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses at several locations around the district. Students can take advanced, preparatory CTE half-day courses during the school year and introductory versions of these courses and internships to earn high school CTE credit in summer.
2026-27 School Year Programs Offered:
Courses are a full year long. Students that complete a year of Skills Center courses earn 3 CTE credits. Many courses offer credit equivalency in fields other than CTE including Math, Science, English, and Physical Education.

Thriving Elements Seeking STEM-focused students for Mentorship Opportunity
Thriving Elements is a high quality mentoring program whose mission is to create access and opportunities for students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
Upon selection into the program, you are matched with a STEM professional who will help prepare you for college and a professional career in STEM. Once you become a member of the TE (Thriving Elements) community, you can expect quarterly leadership events where mentors and mentees from all locations get together to participate in mentoring and teambuilding activities. The vision is to develop and empower leaders in STEM to make a sustainable impact in their communities and inspire the next generation. If this resonates with you, we highly encourage you to apply.

Service-Learning Opportunities
Launch seeking students to help operate annual festival, up to 6 hours
Launch is a local organization providing afterschool programs for elementary age students, as well as preschools throughout Seattle.
They are hoping to recruit some high school age volunteers for their annual Family Carnival, tentatively scheduled for May 30th, 2026 at Van Asselt Community Center. You can see information about last years event here: https://launchlearning.org/25879203-2/.
Volunteers are asked for at least 2 hours, with potential of closer to 6 hours if you stay for set-up/clean-up. You also would be able to participate in the games and lunch would be provided!

UW Botanical Gardens Junior Naturalist Program Now Recruiting for Summer Service Hours
Junior Naturalists are teens volunteering with UW Botanic Gardens Summer Camp. This is a great service project if you are enthusiastic about working with kids, playing outside, and gaining leadership skills. Junior Naturalists will be paired with a Summer Camp Naturalist and assist them in their responsibilities for a small group of campers.
Junior Naturalists will have the opportunity to lead games and activities with the guidance of their Naturalist. This position is designed to provide experience and skills in teaching and working with children, and develop leadership skills. You can earn up to 75 service hours participating in this program.
- Who: Teens ages 15 – 18
- When: Junior Naturalists serve for at least one of the five 2-week sessions that run from June 22 thru August 28
- Where: Washington Park Arboretum & Center for Urban Horticulture
- Cost: Free. This is a volunteer opportunity. Junior Naturalists may use this experience to meet service hour requirements. A reference letter is also available at the successful completion of the two weeks.
